Philosophy

ISKCON doctrine rests on Vedic scripture as perfect knowledge. Sri Krishna is the origin of all sources, Svayam Bhagavan. He has unlimited names, forms and expansion, such as Sri Caitanya, Sri Rama and Sri Vishnu. He is omnipotent, omniscient, and enters everything through His innumerable energies; yet He is simultaneously separate from everything.

Sanatana-dharma

Living entity is an individual spirit soul, a part and parcel of Sri Krishna. Every living being is always serving Him: either directly in a loving relationship, or indirectly under the laws of material nature. Service is sanatana-dharma or the intrinsic attribute of the soul.

Freeing Yourself From the Cycle of Samsara

When the living being forgets his original position and falsely identifies with temporary designations, he becomes entangles in the cycle of repeated birth and death, samsara, and moves from a situation to another rewarded by his deeds, karma. Sometimes he plays a role of a human, sometimes that of an animal or a plant.

Such material illusion will clear up only when he revives his dormant relationship with Sri Krishna by engaging in devotional service, bhakti, in the association of devotees.

The process to attain the goal of life - pure love of Krishna - is to chant the Hare Krishna mantra.

Hare Krishna -mantran lausuminen on Vedoissa suositeltu itseoivallusmenetelmä tälle aikakaudelle. Se yhdistää välittömästi elävän olennon voimanlähteeseensä, Sri Krishnaan. Koska se on riippumaton ulkoisista olosuhteista ja rituaaleista, kuka tahansa voi toistaa sitä missä tai milloin tahansa. Jokainen, joka kuulee tai ääntää Hare Krishna -mantran, hyötyy siitä.

Krishna-liike tarjoilee pyhitettyä kasvisruokaa sunnuntaijuhlissa, Hare Krishna Food for Life -tapahtumissa, eri alojen messuilla ja festivaaleilla.
